Dr. Mitch Oviatt, DVM BSc. Ag
Dr. Mitch Oviatt graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. He worked in Lethbridge for a year followed by two years in Spokane, WA at McKinlay & Peters Equine before returning to Lethbridge and eventually starting up Ranch Docs along with Dr. Ryan Mohr in 2010. Dr. Oviatt especially enjoys equine medicine, surgery, lameness and dentistry, but is also happy to work on cattle and small animals. When not chasing his five children around, Dr. Oviatt enjoys hunting upland birds behind his Brittany, fly fishing, and trail riding in the mountains.
Dr. Ryan Mohr, DVM
Dr. Mohr graduated from the western college of veterinary medicine in 2008. Since finishing his veterinary degree Ryan has worked with both small and large animals, but has primarily focused on horses and cattle. Dr. Mohr has a particular interest in working on performance horses. In pursuing this interest he has taken multiple courses involving diagnosis and treatment of lameness. Recently Dr. Mohr became a certified Veterinary chiropractor. This training has worked well to complement treatment of equine athletes, pleasure horses as well as dogs and cats. Other areas of interest include equine reproduction and cow calf herd management.
Dr. Ian Gibson, DVM
Dr. Ian Gibson joined the Ranch Docs team in mid November 2019. Dr. Gibson was born in South Africa and lived there most of his life. He graduated in 2015 and worked in a mixed animal practice in rural South Africa for a year. Dr. Gibson then moved to Australia where he worked for 3 years, mainly in a small animal practice. He grew up with a love for animals and spent much of his spare time in the outdoors. Dr. Gibson enjoys fishing and hiking, and is excited to explore Alberta and get involved in all of the outdoor activities! He is eager to join the Ranch Docs team, and has a keen interest in small animal surgery.
Dr. Justin Greep, DVM
Dr. Justin Greep grew up in Southern Alberta. He graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in the Spring of 2020. Dr. Greep enjoys the diversity of medicine that mixed animal practice offers and is keen to learn and improve each day. He and his wife, Katelyn, have three beautiful children. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, as well as fishing, camping, hiking, and hunting. Dr. Greep is excited to be a part of the Ranch Docs team, and is eager to work with you to provide the best care possible for your animals.
Dr. Maddy Anderson, DVM
Dr. Maddy Anderson graduated from UCVM in 2021 and then joined the Ranch Docs team. She grew up in St. Albert but spent time in the North West Territories for 6 weeks working in community medicine, equine medicine and surgery. Outside of work Dr. Anderson enjoys running, hiking, and camping as well as playing piano.
Dr. Larissa Booth, DVM
Dr. Larissa Booth grew up on a cow calf ranch near Milo, Alberta. She started out her university education at the University of Lethbridge and then graduated from the University of Calgary’s DVM program in 2021. Outside of work, Larissa’s hobbies include hockey, snowboarding, running, horseback riding and helping out on the family ranch. She has always been passionate for all large animal medicine and is excited to be back in Southern Alberta joining the Ranch Docs team.

Nicole Koenig, RVT, BSc. Biology
Nicole has always had an interest in animal care, spending many summers volunteering and working at different wildlife rehabilitation centers like the Alberta Birds of Prey, and Critter Care Wildlife Society. She graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology. This sparked her interest in the medical side of animal care which led her to continue her schooling, and get her diploma as a RVT.
Nicole started at Ranch Docs in the Summer of 2016 as a practicum AHT student from Olds College. She officially joined the team following her practicum and has loved working in a mixed animal practice. She lives in Lethbridge with her husband, Matt, cats, Blaze and Evy, and dogs, Zora and Eve.
Spencer McCoy-Whittaker, RVT
Spencer started working at ranch docs in May 2018. She graduated from Lakeland College in 2018 as an Animal Health Technician. She grew up in both Drumheller and Strathmore.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 pets- her cats Ellie and Barb, and her dogs Tatum and Beans.
Kendra Wilson, RVT
Kendra moved to Lethbridge from Dawson Creek BC and joined the growing team at ranch docs in November 2018. She attended Grande Prairie regional college (Fairview campus) graduating in 2016 with her animal health diploma. Kendra grew up on a farm in Lymburn, Alberta with cattle and horses where her love for animals started. She is excited to be working here with all the staff and especially all of your pets and livestock.
Shanae Thompson, RVT
Shanae started at Ranch Docs in spring 2020 as a practicum AHT student, and then joined the team right after. She graduated from Olds College with an Animal Health Technology Diploma in June 2020. Shanae enjoys being able to work with all sorts of animals from dogs to cattle.
She grew up in Cranbrook BC where she loves to be outside as much as possible going skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and camping. Her dog Ryley is her pride and joy. If she had a dollar for every time he made her smile she would be a millionaire.
Kennedy Poch, AHT
Hello, I’m Kennedy! I was born and raised here in Lethbridge, AB.
Following high -school I attended U of L and received my B.Sc in biology. I had always had an interest in the field of veterinary medicine, so I decided to work towards my RVT. I took the Animal Technology program at Olds College and am excited to finally be getting some hands-on experience! I look forward to continuing to learn and grow in this profession. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, bouldering, and yoga! I look forward to getting to know the Ranch Docs
Toby Kleinsasser, AHT Student
Toby joined the Ranch Docs team in September of 2018. Previously working mostly with dairy cows and mixed grain farming, he enjoys the mixed animal experience working at Ranch Docs offers.
Currently enrolled in the AHT program, his plans are to eventually obtain his Veterinary Technology Bachelor of Applied Science Degree.

Raquel Ash, Client Care Specialist
Raquel joined the Ranch Docs team as a receptionist in the spring of 2017. She previously worked in the human medicine field as a receptionist, but has loved the change to animal medicine. She was raised here in Lethbridge, where she met and married her sweetheart.
She grew up in Lethbridge with two dogs; Duke who is a pitbull cross, and Jasper, a jack russell terrier. She also grew up with two cats, a grey tabby named Ginger, and black and white one named Trouble.
Brenna Malchow, Client Care Specialist
Brenna grew up riding horses and has competed with her Canadian Warmblood mare at various show jumping barns in the Edmonton and Calgary areas, including Spruce Meadows. Her passion for animals then led her to graduate from the Veterinary Medical Receptionist program at Olds College in 2014. Brenna is excited to be a part of the Ranch Docs team and when she is not at the clinic she enjoys spending time with her Pomeranian, Penny.
Kaylie Fix, Client Care Specialist
Kaylie is a 2013 graduate of the Office Administration Diploma program at our very own Lethbridge College! While she only recently joined us at Ranch Docs, she has 5 years of experience in the veterinary reception field. Growing up, Kaylie spent a lot of time with her Grandmother, who raised Springer Spaniels, and grew to love all animals from there. Although she's an avid dog person, who has a passion for dog behaviour, she also enjoys the crazy cat antics of her rescue O'malley. When she is not manning the phones, Kaylie can usually be found out enjoying the great outdoors with her fiance Kyle and their dogs, Tessa and Balto, or at home relaxing with a good Disney movie!
Previously, Sarah worked at the Lethbridge Animal Shelter for five years as a
kennel technician. During that time, she gained lots of experience handling and
caring for small animals. She is looking forward to the new experiences that
working in a vet clinic will bring. Sarah has a passion for animals and has four of
her own. Two cats, Casper and Milo, and two dogs, Maggie a German shorthaired
pointer and Benelli a rescue Frenchie mix. In her spare time, she enjoys anything
outdoors; namely hunting, camping, and hiking. Sarah looks forward to meeting
clients and providing the best service and care possible to each and every person
Jesie grew up on a cow farm just outside of Magrath. She attended Magrath High School, often coming to Ranch
Docs to do work experience. She has a passion for large animal care and loves helping where she can. Jesie joined
Ranch Docs in January while she attends school studying education. In her free time, you can find her playing with
her dog Sadie, and helping her dad with the cows.
Sue Lafournie, Book Keeper
Hi, I’m Sue. I love numbers so I became a bookkeeper. I have been contracting to Ranch Docs for the last 6 years. I love being outdoors with my pups.
